Actually I started the month of May with quite a bit of luck. One of the local scrapbook stores, Made with Love, held a fun fair on 5th of May. I went with Sis and my little niece, Shermaine, whom I delighted to annouce, has joined the world of scrapbooking! Under the influence of her mummy of course.
We were able to print coupons (it's a fun fair, you see) and use them at the fair. The coupons consisted of discounts for both food and scrapbook supplies, games, free popcorn and ice-cream, free make-and-takes (small projects which comes coordinated. just need to follow the sample, make it on the spot and take them home!)
Both Sis and me were MWL members so we have a set of coupons each. And each coupon comes with a free game at the game stalls and since it's a free coupon, we gave the coupons to Shermaine, who managed to win a little something for herself.
As for me, I got 3 tries at the game stalls, which I was entitled to after spending $50 (using 2 coupons with 15% discount for a single item). I didn't know which game to play, as I'm worried that I will fail badly and get myself in embarrasing situations. But I just have to try, looking at all the yummy prizes that they were giving away. And so, I tried my hand at throwing darts first. I've always sucked at this and thus, I didn't really take aim and just threw all 3 darts. And to my utmost surprise, I managed all 3 darts ONTO the board (which is a first), and got them in just the right positions to win myself an album that costs $40 plus.
And the next game I played, I'm required to match 9 pieces of patterned paper (from a stack of at least 25 papers) within 45 seconds, in the exact position that the game master has laid out. Within approximately 16 seconds, I have matched 8 papers , and the game master told me I just need to match the last paper to win a tote bag worth over $100! Of course, I didn't get the bag as the last paper was at the bottom of the stack and I took some time to find it. It was such a waste! But I did have ample time to check and double-check on the papers. That was really lucky as compared to some other players I've seen, who didn't managed to complete the game within the stipulated timing. And for this game, I won prima flowers worth about $18.
I'm quite happy with my prizes so I gave the last chance to my Sis, she tried the darts but didn't manage to win anything. She later told me I should play all the games since I'm pretty lucky that day. And at the fun fair, I spent about $50 plus and won prizes of over $60. How good is that!!
We had absolute fun at the fair and were really glad we went.

Yours truly doing the make-and-take!
My Sis and Shermaine trying out one of the games.
Stuff I bought at MWL. 15% discount for each. So I only paid $50 plus for stuff that cost $70 plus.
My prizes!!
My loot that day!
After the fun fair, we went to Spotlight, Daiso and another scrapbook store, Laine's Papeterie, where I hoarded more supplies, just so I can get the $38 class voucher. All in all, I spent about $160 that day (including a scrapbook class worth $68), but looking at the stuff I have, fellow scrapbookers will be able to tell that I've got more than I've bargained for!
A good start to the month of May indeed!
